One of my favorite bands, Phoenix and the Turtle has released a new 4 track EP on Fluttery Records. I got a chance to see them at Pehrspace. I'm always impressed with their live shows and last night didn't disappoint. Phoenix and the Turtle has really come along way in shaping their sound and it's a shame people don't throw dollar bills at this kind of music. Hopefully this gets put out on vinyl soon.

One of my favorite days of the year is coming up this weekend. Record Store Day!!!!!! Yeah yeah everyday should be RSD but some of us have children and homes and poor paying jobs. I'm pretty lucky to have a wife who lets me buy as many records as she does. The list is already out of control and who knows what I'll be able to pick up. I have about 27 records on my list of "wants" as it is. As long as I get the Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse I'll be happy.
I'll be heading out to Lou's Records in Encinitas as I have the last two years. Scored some great records there last year. The only downer to RSD are the dudes who come to buy and re-sell the records same day for double or triple the price on ebay. Whatever dudes. Some of us want the records cause we like the bands.
I could use a few of these. Not too expensive at $149.
I'm a big fan of cool things. Basically everything. And when you put a few of my different favorite things together they became something amazing like Voltron.
Take for instance the artist David Choe. I'm immensely inspired by his artwork. Then he goes and paints a picture of one of my favorite poets and authors Charles Bukowski. Watercolor non-the-less!

These are from the Helena Markos Boutique a Los Angeles based accessory boutique. Each piece is one of a kind and hand made by Noël ILL. She also does cute paintings of gnomes.
I'm trying. I don't know what at yet. We have a dream and I hope this will be a document of that dream. We have children to work hard for. A child we adore and another on the way.
